How the guide handles hosting, local checklist choices, visitor measurement and optional feedback.

Visiting the guide.

This guide is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Loading a hosted website sends ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and requested address, to the hosting provider so it can deliver and protect the service. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of service data.

This build has no advertising tracker, Google Analytics, social-media widget, embedded map, account system. Photographs and book samples are served as local website assets. External websites receive a request when you follow their links and apply their own privacy practices.

Your checklist stays in your browser.

If browser storage is available, the checklist remembers only which predefined items you ticked on this device. It does not store a name, trip date, location or personal note, and the checklist feature does not upload your choices. You can untick items, use its reset control, or clear the site’s browser data.

Storage can be unavailable in a restricted or private browser. The checklist still works during the page visit and remains printable; the page tells you if remembering choices is unavailable. Your browser’s own synchronisation or device backup settings are separate.

Visitor measurement.

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are useful and how quickly they load. It provides aggregate page, visit, referring-site and performance statistics. It does not use cookies or browser storage for measurement, and Cloudflare says it does not fingerprint visitors or follow individuals across visits.

The measurement service receives the address of the page you visit, referring-page information and browser performance information. Feedback is sent only through the feedback form and is kept out of visitor measurement. There are no private visitor pages. Please avoid putting personal information in website addresses.

We do not measure your checklist choices, individual button clicks or purchases on Amazon. Following a book link does not tell us whether you bought it. Browser privacy tools or blocked measurement requests can reduce the reported totals; the guide, checklist and book samples still work.

Cloudflare handles measurement information as described in its privacy policy and Web Analytics documentation. Hosting and security records are separate from visitor statistics.

Feedback goes privately to Niall.

The feedback form collects your category, message, an optional reply email and, if you choose, a public page address. Page context excludes address queries and fragments. Please do not include sensitive information. There is no automatic screenshot or location capture.

Cloudflare processes the form and its security check. Messages and reply addresses are encrypted in a separate database and kept for up to 180 days, so Niall can review feedback and reply where requested. Notifications go to a fixed owner address. Copies in the owner’s mailbox may be retained for the correspondence. Saving a report does not mean it has been read.

Short-lived security records use keyed digests rather than storing full IP addresses or reply addresses. Aggregate operational records are kept for up to 30 days. Form contents, reply addresses, receipts and security credentials are excluded from visitor statistics and application logs. Ordinary hosting and security records are handled separately by Cloudflare.

The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to limit spam. It loads when you open feedback; if it cannot load, sending is unavailable and your text stays on the page. Drafts are held only in this page’s memory and disappear when you leave or reload. You are not added to a mailing list. For questions about your feedback or a deletion request, use the form and include your receipt if available.
